Vote for an older Queen...

The work above is called ‘Vote for an older Queen’

It is the work of French artist Antoine Cordet

With this never ending lockdown, I think we are all starting to look a little like this portrait, tired and slightly despairing.

I’ve never shared his work before but his mixed media portraits are just perfect for these endless days. His work is both aloof and tender, which is a strange and rare combination. The acrylic paintings with marker on canvas make me feel quietly emotional and on occasion slightly weepy.

Cordet lives and works in Paris, and exhibits internationally.

Let’s just keep our faces turned up towards the sun dear people, Spring and brighter days are surely on the way.

Big Love
