My Taste Runs Raw

By now you all know the kind of jewellery I favour. Beaten, textured, distressed. I like to know it’s been hand crafted and the imperfections in hand crafted jewellery really make the most of that.

Raw Taste is one such label. I wrote about this label many years ago on the old Typepad blog but thought it was worth revisiting. Designed and produced by Sasha Cherovskym she firmly believes in quality over quantity. Raw Taste is self-funded and nothing is mass-produced with every piece being one of a kind, with it’s own minor variations and flaws; they are what give the pieces their raw edge. Everything Sasha makes is made using refined silver in order not to support unethical mining practices. Leather is supplied from fellow designers to give life to scraps that would otherwise be thrown out.

In truth I’m not even sure she’s still creating jewellery but it’s still worth admiring her beautiful work.
