the tenderness of Tania...

‘Tender’ is not a word I often use when looking at a painting.

But it is the one word that always springs to mind when looking at the work of Tania Rivilis

Although she was only born in Russia in 1986 and lives in Germany now, to me there is a real Bloomsbury Group feeling about this work. If you told me these painting had been produced in in 1905 in leafy square next to the British Museum I would believe you completely.

"they lived in squares, painted in circles and loved in triangles".

Her work is distinguished by a wide range of themes and a variety of techniques: from classical and academic portraits to contemporary impressionist works, from gala oil portraits to graphic drawings. Her signature style reveals a personal desire of art experiment and paying homage to traditional craftsmanship at the same time: this is a concept of classical art in modern interpretation.

Tania’s works are focused on the philosophical reading of the human image and the dialectical concept of the human soul
