Light up, light up...

I only really burn candles in the house either for either birthdays or for remembrance.

Last Monday was my Mums anniversary so I lit some candles for her using my usual Shearers Amber Noir tea lights. However when I came to light some candles on the Saturday to remember Grande Empress Gillian’s lovely Mum, I discovered I had run out, so I used some of the small white tea lights that I had in the drawer.

Fast forward to Sunday and I’m sitting eating my breakfast when something struck me as very strange about my bunny lights. Then it dawned on me, they were covered in black sooty smoke that must have come from the non Shearer candles. Those poor little guys need a good wash and clean up now

I normally just burn small candles but last night I was totally captivated by these Vintage Danish Candle Holders over at Aporta. How elegant and glorious are these. They would work perfectly on my little alter. Sadly they are in the USA and Aporta don’t ship it seems, so I can’t get my hands on them 😔

I’ve now found some beautiful beeswax candles, that are handcrafted in Cumbria from Rowan and Wren ( whose website is always filled with the most lovely lovely things)

Now all I need to find are some vintage Danish candle holders.

If you come across any on your own internet travels please point me in their direction. Thank you.
