Shredding Glencoe

I did it, I went snowboarding on Saturday! Some fresh pow fell last week so Prince B and I headed to the glorious Glencoe Mountain Resort for what will surely be the last snowfall of the season.

It was a bit of a shaky start with Prince B’s anxiety so we weren’t able to go to the top of the slope as it mean going on a tow lift and he has never even been on a skateboard never mind a snowboard, so tackling a tow lift was a bridge too far for this visit, but I will be going up to the top next year for sure. This time, we just played around on the bottom of a slope, which was enough to remind myself of the principle of snowboarding. It was so much fun! I felt alive for the time in a very very long time. My life has been stagnant for such a long time now, I’d forgotten what it felt like to actually live. But being out in the snow and sunshine with such stunning scenery all around is life-affirming. Even Prince B had a go and actually quite enjoyed it, well as much as Prince B enjoys anything!

I am already counting down the months to be able to go back. Before then however I will be taking lessons at Braehead for the rest of the year so come next year I will be able to shred down the mountain!
