OVER THE ISLES TO SKYE

Oh how I love a scented candle. So when Skye Candles contacted us to try their handmade creations, I was thrilled. My current scented candle is all but finished and I was due to source a new one, so their timing could not have been better.
Skye Candles are all handmade on the beautiful Isle of Skye in the far north of Scotland.
Founder, James, started working for a soap company based in Portree and discovered he had a flare for mixing scents and set about starting the Isle of Skye Candle Company to compliment the soaps.
James renovates a bothy and turns it into his candle making workshop, complete with authentic grass roof and wood burning stove.
I chose the Scottish Bluebell candle from their Scottish Range. It features the beautiful fresh scent of bluebells, with top notes of galbanum, rose and a small dash of jasmine. The scent is not overwhelming, but soft and subtle. As I type this I have it's scent wafting over to my desk.
The candles themselves are also a good size with 45 hours burn time in each candle. These particular kind only cost £20, which is a great price for something so lovingly handmade.
