It's all a bit meta for me...

Meta.

It’s one of those concepts that I can never fully wrap my head around or even explain. But I know it when I see it and it’s the first word that popped into my head when I saw these dresses from Loewe. Well to be honest what actually popped into my head was “eughhhh that’s all a bit meta for me”

I’ve been under such a Loewe spell of late but I suspect these dresses may have broken that spell.

The LOEWE Spring Summer 2023 campaign, shot again by Juergen Teller uses The Face print dress reimagined to promote the collection using the 6 members of NMIXX, a South Korean Pop girl group as models. Each one of them wearing a one-of-a-kind, personalised version of the dress featuring their own face ( no I have never heard of them either)

Now this is where I confess to being confused. The Face dress which is made of pure natural silk with a built-in boned bodice and detachable and adjustable chain straps retails at $3400. Surely anyone who is young enough to enjoy NMIXX won’t be able to afford that.

I’m just going to put my cardigan on, find a nice blanket to drape across my knees while I watch an old repeat of Murder She Wrote. You can rely on Jessica to keep things real.
